'Come Back' by Chicane
Very good, and well done for getting 70,000 views in 2 days!
Hi Stuart, Glad you like the blog! The video was brought to my attention by someone who thought that it contravened the Audiovisual Media Services Regulations, 2009
(3) Advertising included in an on-demand programme service— (a)must be readily recognisable as such, and (b)must not use techniques which exploit the possibility of conveying a message subliminally or surreptitiously.
But... I think that it would count as a pop video, so not be subject to the same regulation. We'll see!
I actually think this is a promo video for Chicane's single, but it's certainly a clever trick if that is the case...
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work Dan, I genuinely enjoy reading your blog whenever there's a new post.

For example:

(b)must not use techniques which exploit the possibility of conveying a message subliminally or surreptitiously.

Interesting indeed!
ReplyDeleteI think the major issue is that there is no point where the advertising is "readily recognisable"
If there was an endframe which made it clear the I can see no problem with the ad.
